Treading Water (Mixed-Media on Canvas)

This piece examines the cumulative weight of emotional baggage over time; feelings long suppressed and contained until they inevitably surface. It reflects the process of opening the floodgates through introspection, embracing that release as a necessary step toward understanding.

Exhibited at the Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery in the Collective Threads showcase (August 10 - September 14, 2025).

The original piece was made on a canvas with magazine clippings, shells, paint, foil, glitter, and glow-in-the-dark paint coming together in a bright, textured, and playful design. A high quality image was then taken and lightly tweaked in Photoshop for colour enhancement and clarity.
